Our AMA tailgates are some of the most finely engineered lift gates we've ever had the pleasure of working with. An under sliding tailgate, it can be stored away when not in use by sliding underneath the truck frame... completely out of the way. The entire gate functions as an ICC bumper during transport. Also, with no need for a deck extension, there is no addition to the length of the unit, important for maximum length vehicles.
The entire gate slides on synthetic sliders inside steel tube, sealed with rubber gaskets to keep out the dirt and grime. This prevents premature wear and sticking of the sliders.
The gate tilts to the ground mechanically, the only one that does, thus there is no need for costly pneumatics or electronics to control this, which require a specialized technician to repair. All bearings used are maintenance free, and all hydraulic cylinders are the same dimension. This makes any repairs much simpler, as there is no need to custom-order a certain cylinder size, it can simply be replaced with a standard one. They also have a rubber protection sleeve on the exposed rod to prevent damage.
There are many options available on these gates, including part-aluminum or all-aluminum platform, dual cart stops, pneumatic foot control, larger platform sizes, overload alarm, and much more.
